The aim of the Interpreter service is to help patients / carers from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds access health services by providing professional and confidential interpreting services.
Services are available in over 130 languages, including AUSLAN (Australian Sign Language) for the Deaf. The service employs 50 staff interpreters/translators and has a pool of over 400 contractors. Healthcare interpreters and translators are highly trained and accredited by National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters. Health Care Interpreters are also competent in the use of medical terminology and bound by a professional Code of Ethics..
If you require the services of an interpreter for your visit to one of our Centres, please advise our staff at the time of booking your appointment.
** There is no charge for this service but bookings are essential and need to organised ahead of time to ensure a suitable interpreter is available at the time of your visit.
